- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- In another bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to make tzatziki sauce.
- Warm pita breads in a dry skillet or microwave for 30 seconds.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion on pita breads. Top with tzatziki sauce.
- Fold pita breads and serve immediately.

- Use full-fat Greek yogurt for creamier tzatziki.
- Thinly slice chicken for faster cooking.
- Drain grated cucumber well to avoid watery sauce.
- Add a pinch of paprika or cayenne for extra spice.
