- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 slices ham
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour (for sauce)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken breasts to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Layer each chicken breast with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
- Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Dredge in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
- Place in air fryer basket and spray lightly with olive oil.
- Cook for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk.
- Stir in remaining Swiss cheese until smooth.
- Drizzle sauce over chicken before serving.
Notes
- Use toothpicks to secure rolls before cooking.
- Check internal temperature—chicken should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing.
