- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Flatten chicken breasts to even thickness.
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Beat the egg in another bowl.
- Dip each chicken breast in egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place chicken in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
- Flip the chicken, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Cook for another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- For a lighter version, skip the cheese or use low-fat mozzarella.
- Serve with pasta or a side salad.
