  • 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add the chicken thighs and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each thigh in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated chicken thighs in the basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
  6. Lightly spray the tops of the chicken thighs with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  7. Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in buttermilk for longer.
