- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add the chicken thighs and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each thigh in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated chicken thighs in the basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
- Lightly spray the tops of the chicken thighs with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
- Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in buttermilk for longer.
