- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Using a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters, cut out donuts from the dough.
- Place the donuts in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes, then flip and air fry for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy!
Notes
- For added flavor, you can mix in chocolate chips or nuts into the batter.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
