Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight) to tenderize.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the chicken breasts inside. Spray the tops of the chicken with more cooking spray.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
