- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight) to tenderize.
- In another bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the chicken breasts inside. Spray the tops of the chicken with more cooking spray.
- Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
