- 1 angel food cake
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the angel food cake according to package instructions or your favorite recipe.
- Once cooled, slice the cake horizontally into two layers.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries with a bit of sugar and let them sit for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Spread half of the whipped cream on the bottom layer of the cake.
- Add half of the strawberries on top of the cream.
- Place the second layer of the cake on top.
- Spread the remaining whipped cream over the top layer.
- Garnish with the rest of the strawberries.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
