Angel Wings with Powdered Sugar: 5 Delightful Reasons to Indulge

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Crispy, delicate pastries dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in the sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into strips, then make a slit in the center of each strip and twist it to form a shape resembling angel wings.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the dough pieces until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes each.
  8. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying, or the angel wings may absorb too much oil.
