Description
Crispy, delicate pastries dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in the sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips, then make a slit in the center of each strip and twist it to form a shape resembling angel wings.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the dough pieces until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes each.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying, or the angel wings may absorb too much oil.
