- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce to the cooked beef and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half the cooked pasta in a baking dish, then spread the ricotta mixture over it.
- Add the remaining pasta and top with the beef and sauce mixture.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
