- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.
- Mix in the BBQ sauce until well combined.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni until evenly coated with the sauce.
- If desired, transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy your BBQ mac and cheese!

- Feel free to add cooked bacon or pulled pork for extra flavor.
