- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch thick slices or cubes.
- In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the tofu to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
- If grilling, place the marinated tofu on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
- If baking, place the marinated tofu on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove from grill or oven and let cool slightly before serving.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding smoked paprika to the marinade.
