Delicious homemade pierogi filled with savory beef filling, perfect for any occasion.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cooked ground beef
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup potato, mashed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for frying
- Sour cream for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water.
- Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, sauté the onion until translucent. Add the cooked ground beef and mashed potato. Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into circles using a cookie cutter.
- Place a teaspoon of the beef filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over and pinch the edges to seal.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop in the pierogi and cook until they float to the surface, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Fry the pierogi until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot with sour cream.
