  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add beef and brown on all sides.
  3. Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  4. Pour in beef broth and water.
  5. Add carrots, potatoes, salt, pepper, thyme, and bay leaf.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  7. Add green beans and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Remove bay leaf before serving.
