Description
A delicious and savory beef steak dish served with sautéed onions, perfect for a hearty dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice)
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the butter. Heat until the butter is melted and bubbling.
- Add the seasoned steaks to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
- To serve, top the steaks with the sautéed onions and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
