Description

A hearty and comforting beef stew made with tender chunks of beef, vegetables, and rich broth.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add carrots, potatoes, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the pot. Add beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, and rosemary.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  7. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the beef in batches.
  • Let the stew rest for 10 minutes before serving.
