Ingredients

- 1 lb beef stew meat, cubed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp thyme
Instructions
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat
- Brown beef cubes on all sides
- Add onion and garlic, cook until soft
- Sprinkle flour over mixture and stir
- Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring
- Add Worcestershire sauce and seasonings
- Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes until thickened
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes

- Cut beef into uniform pieces for even cooking
- Deglaze pan with broth for extra flavor
- Gravy thickens as it cools
