Ingredients

- 200g Gruyère cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- French bread, cubed, for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- Pour in the wine and lemon juice and heat gently.
- Gradually add the grated cheeses, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
- Season with pepper and stir well.
- Serve with cubed bread for dipping.
