This is the best corned beef recipe for tender and flavorful meat.
Ingredients

- 3–4 pounds corned beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 4 potatoes, quartered
- 1 head of cabbage, cut into wedges
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Rinse corned beef under cold water.
- Place corned beef in a large pot or Dutch oven.
- Add peppercorns, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, garlic, onion, beef broth, and water.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
- Add carrots and potatoes during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Add cabbage during the last 15 minutes.
- Remove meat and vegetables; let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add bay leaves.
- Slice against the grain for tender pieces.
- Leftovers can be used in sandwiches or salads.
