Ingredients

- 500g chicken breast, sliced
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add chicken and cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in mushrooms and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add black pepper, soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
- If desired, thicken the sauce with cornstarch dissolved in water.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.

- Use fresh black pepper for the best flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of chili flakes.
