- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (90g) cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup (170g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, do not overbake.
