- 1 cup buckwheat groats
- 2 cups water or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the buckwheat groats under cold water and drain.
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water or vegetable broth to a boil.
- Add the buckwheat groats to the boiling liquid, reduce the heat to low, and cover.
- Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the buckwheat is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the buckwheat with a fork and stir in the butter and chopped dill.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can toast the buckwheat groats in a dry skillet before cooking.
- Experiment with adding other herbs or spices based on your preference.
