Ingredients

- 4 medium apples
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples.
- Insert sticks into the apples.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
- Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Add food coloring and vanilla extract, stirring well.
- Dip each apple in the candy mixture, coating well.
- Place dipped apples on a greased baking sheet to cool.

- Work quickly while the candy is hot.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
