- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Pita chips for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and salt, cooking until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the caramelized onions, sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the dip to a baking dish and smooth out the top. Optionally, sprinkle extra cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes or until the dip is bubbly and slightly golden on top.
- Serve warm with pita chips.
Notes
- For a deeper flavor, you can add fresh herbs like thyme or chives.
- To make it ahead of time, prepare the dip and refrigerate it. Bake just before serving.
