Description
A refreshing and zesty dish made with fresh fish or seafood marinated in citrus juices, typically lime or lemon, mixed with herbs, spices, and vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh fish fillets (such as tilapia, snapper, or halibut), diced
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cucumber, diced
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste

- Tortilla chips for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a glass or ceramic bowl, combine the diced fish and lime juice. Make sure the fish is completely submerged in the juice.

- Once the fish is ‘cooked’ in the lime juice, drain off some of the excess juice.
- Add the chopped red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, jalapeño, and cilantro to the fish. Gently fold to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately with avocado slices and tortilla chips, if desired.
