Delicious chai-flavored cinnamon rolls with a hint of spice.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1 tbsp milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg to the yeast mixture. Mix to form a dough.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread melted butter on the dough. Sprinkle cinnamon, brown sugar, ginger, cardamom, and cloves evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- Use fresh spices for better flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
