Description
A warm and gooey cheese fondue perfect for dipping bread and vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g Gruyere cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Crusty bread, cut into cubes for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic halves.
- Pour in the white wine and lemon juice and heat gently.
- Grate the Gruyere and Emmental cheese and gradually stir into the wine.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
- Stir continuously until the cheese is melted and smooth.
- Season with pepper.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
Notes
- Use a good quality wine for better flavor.
- Keep the pot on low heat to maintain the melted consistency.
- Feel free to add vegetables or fruits for dipping.
