Ingredients

- 1 cup of grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup of grated Emmental cheese
- 1 clove of garlic, halved
- 1 cup of dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Bread cubes for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic.
- Pour the wine and lemon juice into the pot and heat until just simmering.
- Gradually add the cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture to thicken.
- Season with black pepper.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
