Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes per side. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  4. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice.
  5. Layer the sliced chicken, avocado, and shredded cheese on one bread slice.
  6. Top with the second bread slice, mayo side down.
  7. Butter the outside of the sandwich and place it in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Transfer to the oven and bake for 5 minutes to melt the cheese fully.
  10. Slice and serve warm.
