- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes per side. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer the sliced chicken, avocado, and shredded cheese on one bread slice.
- Top with the second bread slice, mayo side down.
- Butter the outside of the sandwich and place it in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer to the oven and bake for 5 minutes to melt the cheese fully.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use ripe avocados for best texture.
- You can substitute cheddar with mozzarella or pepper jack cheese.
- For extra crispiness, press the sandwich lightly while cooking.
