- 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional for topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, chopped onion, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- If using, mix the crushed cornflakes with the melted butter and sprinkle it over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your cheesy hash brown casserole!

- You can add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
