Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, chopped onion, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  4. If using, mix the crushed cornflakes with the melted butter and sprinkle it over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your cheesy hash brown casserole!
