- 2 pounds frozen hashbrowns, thawed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup chopped onions (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, melted butter, 1.5 cups of cheddar cheese, chopped onions (if using), garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
- In a small bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes with a little melted butter, then sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
