Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, thyme, and basil. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Add the Parmesan cheese to the sauce and stir until melted and well combined.
  7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and coat them in the cream sauce. Let them simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
