Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Greek dish featuring tender chicken wrapped in warm pita bread with fresh homemade tzatziki sauce.

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread rounds
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- Tzatziki sauce (see below)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave for 20 seconds.
- Assemble the gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on the pita. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
- Fold the pita and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
- Make the tzatziki sauce in advance for better flavor.
- Add feta cheese for a richer taste.
