Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (34 lbs)
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine chicken and broth. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, and bay leaves.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until chicken is cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken, shred meat, and discard bones.
  5. Add egg noodles to the pot and cook until tender.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the pot. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
