- 500g boneless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook chicken thighs until golden brown on both sides.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Optional: Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the sauce to thicken it.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for best results.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
- Serve with steamed rice and vegetables.
