A delicious and festive breakfast casserole perfect for Christmas morning, filled with eggs, bread, sausage, and cheese.

- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 6 cups cubed bread (such as French or Italian)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese to the egg mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight to allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- You can add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra flavor.
- This casserole can be prepared a day in advance and baked in the morning.
