Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, sage, and thyme.
  4. Stir in the cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
  5. In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in milk and melted butter.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Spoon batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
