Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls with a gooey filling and creamy icing.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the buttered dough.
- Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
