  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  6. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
