Description

Cinnamon rolls are soft, sweet pastries rolled with cinnamon and sugar.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons cream (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread butter, cinnamon, and sugar over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and cream to make icing and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • For softer rolls, add more milk.
  • Use fresh yeast for better results.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
