Description

A classic New England clam bake featuring clams, seafood, and vegetables, steamed to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 dozen clams, rinsed
  • 1 dozen mussels, rinsed
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 ears corn, husked and cut in half
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and add the baby potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the corn to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the clams, mussels, shrimp, butter, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover the pot and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams and mussels open.
  5. Remove from heat and arrange the seafood and vegetables on a large serving platter.
  6. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other seafood such as lobster or crab.
  • Make sure to discard any clams or mussels that do not open after cooking.
