A classic apple pie recipe with a flaky crust and sweet apple filling.

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 6 cups thinly sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, stirring until dough forms. Divide into two disks and chill.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Roll out one dough disk and fit into a pie dish. Add apple filling.
- Roll out the second dough disk and place over apples. Seal edges and cut slits on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor.
- Chill dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling.
- Brush crust with egg wash for extra shine.
