  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  2. Gradually add ice water, stirring until dough forms. Divide into two disks and chill.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Toss apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Roll out one dough disk and fit into a pie dish. Add apple filling.
  6. Roll out the second dough disk and place over apples. Seal edges and cut slits on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool before serving.
