Description

  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Add milk as needed to soften the dough.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
  9. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
  11. Let cool before icing.
  12. Mix powdered sugar and water for icing and add food coloring if desired.
  13. Decorate cookies with icing.
