  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, then drain.
  3. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in a pan.
  4. Add tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the meat. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta cheese with egg in a bowl.
  6. Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
  7. Repeat layers and top with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
