- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in mashed bananas and vanilla.
- Mix dry ingredients into banana mixture until just combined. Fold in walnuts.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
- Store leftovers wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to 3 days.
