Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Transfer the beef mixture to the crockpot.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  5. Add broken lasagna noodles and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Serve with a dollop of ricotta, shredded mozzarella, and fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with lentils.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
