- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown and fully cooked (about 6-7 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add orzo, chicken broth, heavy cream, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
- Shred or slice the cooked chicken and return it to the skillet.
- Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor.
- Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
