Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown and fully cooked (about 6-7 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add orzo, chicken broth, heavy cream, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
  6. Shred or slice the cooked chicken and return it to the skillet.
  7. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
