  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, basil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Serve hot with extra Parmesan if desired.
