- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the sausage. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy sausage sauce.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
