Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk and cream over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth.
  3. Slowly add warm milk mixture to the eggs while whisking continuously.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly.
