Description
Crispy and delicious homemade apple chips made easily in the air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium apples, any variety of your choice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil for spraying
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Wash and dry the apples. Core and slice them thinly, ideally about 1/8 inch thick. You can use a mandoline for even slices.
- In a bowl, toss the apple slices with cinnamon and sugar if using, to coat evenly.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches.
- Air fry the apple slices for about 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Once done, remove the apple chips from the air fryer and allow them to cool before serving. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger.
- If you prefer a sweeter chip, feel free to increase the sugar.
- Store any leftover apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
