Description

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Place chicken, broth, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, thyme, parsley, pepper, and salt in the crockpot.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  3. Shred the chicken with two forks.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, melted butter, and milk to form a dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the crockpot.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour or until dumplings are cooked through.
  7. Serve warm.

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker version.
